Company Goals

Company goals in Horizon define the strategic objectives your organization is working toward. The Operator uses these goals to prioritize agent tasks, allocate resources, and provide alignment scores during altitude checks.

When you define company goals, the Operator incorporates them into its decision-making process:

  • Task prioritization — tasks that contribute to active goals are prioritized over routine work.
  • Resource allocation — the Operator may recommend shifting agents between departments to support high-priority goals.
  • Alignment scoring — during altitude checks, the Operator evaluates how well current operations align with stated goals.
  • Reporting — agents generating reports can contextualize data against goal progress.

Navigate to Company > Goals to see all defined objectives. Each goal card shows:

  • Goal title and description.
  • Progress bar — visual indicator of how far along the goal is.
  • Target date — the deadline for achieving the goal.
  • Status — On Track, At Risk, Behind, or Completed.
  • Assigned departments — which departments are responsible for this goal.
  • Key results — measurable outcomes tied to the goal.
  1. Click + New Goal on the Goals page.
  2. Enter a title that clearly states the objective (e.g., “Reduce invoice processing time by 50%”).
  3. Add a description with context about why this goal matters and how success will be measured.
  4. Set a target date for completion.
  5. Define key results — specific, measurable milestones that indicate progress. For example:
    • “Process 90% of invoices within 24 hours.”
    • “Reduce manual data entry errors to below 2%.”
  6. Assign one or more departments responsible for this goal.
  7. Set the priority level: Critical, High, Medium, or Low.
  8. Click Create Goal.

Each goal can have multiple key results that serve as measurable checkpoints. Key results have:

  • Title — a concise description of the measurable outcome.
  • Metric type — number, percentage, currency, or boolean (yes/no).
  • Starting value — where the metric stands when the goal is created.
  • Target value — the value you are trying to reach.
  • Current value — updated manually or automatically from connected data sources.

When all key results reach their target values, the goal is automatically marked as Completed.

Update goal progress in two ways:

  • Manual updates — click on a goal and update key result values directly. Add notes to provide context on progress or blockers.
  • Automatic tracking — for goals tied to metrics available through your connections (e.g., invoice counts from QuickBooks, lead counts from Salesforce), Horizon can automatically update key result values on a schedule.

The Alignment view shows how agents, departments, and active tasks map to your goals. This visualization helps you:

  • Identify goals that have insufficient agent resources dedicated to them.
  • Spot departments that are not contributing to any active goals.
  • Find tasks running that do not align with any stated objective — candidates for deprioritization.
StatusMeaning
On TrackProgress is consistent with the timeline. Key results are being met at the expected rate.
At RiskProgress has slowed. The goal may not be met by the target date without intervention.
BehindKey results are significantly below expected progress. Immediate action is recommended.
CompletedAll key results have reached their target values.
ArchivedThe goal has been retired without completion (e.g., priorities changed).

The Operator automatically suggests status changes during altitude checks based on key result trends.

To edit a goal, open it and click Edit. You can modify any field, including key results. To archive a goal that is no longer relevant, click Archive — this removes it from the active goals view but preserves historical data.
